Chester Literature Festival - where the page meets the stage as the region's longest established literature festival, the exciting world of words in another event-packed festival. Star guests this year include festival patron and poet laureate, Andrew Motion, Louis de Bernieres, David Starkey, Lois Price, Colin Dexter, Sir Ranulph Fiennes, Timothy West and Prunella Scales and many, many more. Local authors, workshops, children's events, literary walks, lyrics, signings and conversation. On the menu at the Literary Lunch will be chick-lit star Jenny Colgan, historical novelist Kate Williams, super gran Jane Fearnely-Whittingstall and comedian Julian Clary with his firest dark novel 'Murder Most Fab'. Journalist-turned spy thriller writer Ben MacIntyre is guest speaker at the Literary Dinner.
